A reason to chill

A dad, an average rugger (at best),

above average boredom during COVID . . .

Petaluma Rugby Club was born.

When it started.

During the pandemic in 2020, isolation hit everyone. Shelter in place allowed me, Bryan, a former college and men’s club player, to watch many, many historic rugby matches on Youtube. It helped.

It reminded me how many great memories and friendships in my life are related to rugby. Connection to rugby and those friends made a hard time easier.

How it stared.

After a few months in lock down with 3 children and my wife, I had to find ‘me’ time. Kicking for points at the local field (Casa Grande High School) became an outlet.

It is also the same field I played Pop Warner on as a kid.

It felt good to just ‘be out on the pitch’.

Building it.

I thought, “If I appreciate this, why wouldn’t others?”

I decided to find a way to connect with other fathers, ruggers, and cool guys wanting to have fun and experience more joy in P-town.

Living it.

With life opening back up, I realized I have to keep this going!

I had to commit to myself and take care of my own needs to be the best version of myself for my family. I found a place to play touch rugby, run regularly, and have social time.

Sharing it.

I invite you to join me and others at any or all of the events and activities we have.

Never played rugby?

Who cares! You don’t need to have played to enjoy a run, a drink, and laughter.

Bring the family! The more the merrier.

Growing it.

Be sure to share the love. Show up, and keep showing up. Community happens over time and with consistency, so give it a ‘try’ (pun intended).
